FOUNDING MINISTER

Vernelle Nelson was introduced to Unity in the mid-1980's. She is an ordained Unity minister who left the frigid winters, ice and snow of her hometown of Washington, DC for the sunshine and warm climate of South Florida in 1995. 

After an eclectic and fulfilling career in radio, television, non-profit organizations and government service, she wrote two spiritual self-help books based upon Unity teachings – Favorable Conditions and Don’t Invite Me to Your Pity Party. Both books are currently out of print, however, they may still be available on the internet.

 

Her third book – Living a Golden Life, is available through amazon.com as well as online through www.unitygoldenlife.org and select bookstores. An expanded edition of Don’t Invite Me to Your Pity Party is currently in the works and is expected to be published later this year.

While Unity Golden Life Ministries is best known for Seaside Morning Meditations, our most important work is providing pastoral care for the home bound, hospital visitations and spiritual support for hospice patients and their circle of care. Through Unity Golden Life Ministries, Rev. Vernelle teaches classes in person and online, and facilitates workshops, seminars and retreats throughout the US. She is also on the faculty of Unity Urban Ministerial School and president of the Unity Urban Ministerial School Alumni Association.

In 2016, Rev. Vernelle was honored to have been invited to contribute her insights in A Sound of Unity: The Twelve Powers, a movie about the Twelve Powers of man as taught by Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore. This film is the brainchild of renowned New Thought author and director, James Twyman and was released in January 2017.
